The Five Olympic Attitudes

What I learned during my weight workout this morning, from a video presentation of Dennis Waitley (what perfect timing with the games in London currently!)

5 Olympic Attitudes (for Success):

I. Adapt to Change
A great formula for dealing with change proactively is KASH; continue enhancing in every area-
K nowledge
A ttitute
S kills
H abits

II. Deserve to Win
Your potential is worth carving and polishing!
Keep your mindset in check; what are you expecting?  Do you deserve to win? YES, but only you can confirm that for yourself...

III. Pay the Price
The price of success is descipline.
Observation, Simulation, Repetition, Internalization works to create greatness.  Simulation is "doing within while you are doing without."
Right practice makes perfect- When you want to learn to play great golf, for example, don't go practice golf on the driving range, get out on the golf course.

IV. Focus on Results
WINNERS focus on the REWARD of desired results; LOSERS focus on the PENALTY of failure.
Stair-step your way to success by focusing on seasonal or 90 day goals; not too big, not too small.

V. Chase Your Passion (Not Your Pension)
It's not your bankbook that determines your worth.  Grab your dream and achieve it.  Be engaged, be involved in the "prime time" of life!

Overall, the quote from this presentation that best sums up an Olympic Winner Attitude:  "Losers let things happen; winners make things happen."

What a great way to start the day!
Respectfully yours,
Heather A. Legge
