As I prepared for the coming year, helping my clients prepare their goals and objectives, and working on my own, I realized there is a plethora of resources available to us geared toward goal setting but there was a need for more information about goal ACHIEVING. I set out to create something - some easy worksheets and a few steps - so that anyone could take this document and be a goal achiever. Whether you 'do'
New Year's Resolutions or not, whether you set goals at all, you probably don't realize there are some very simple things you can do to enhance your chances of actually accomplishing what it is you want.
The result is a short (4 page) Goal Achieving Guide that walks you through 5 simple steps to setting and achieving goals that make a difference.
1. Realize your goals need to be YOUR goals. Going through the motions for somebody else or out of obligation will only get you so far.
2. Strengthen your WHY power so that your WILL power matters a lot less.
3. Take all those goals and ideas and tasks and 'incompletes' flying around in your head and download them onto paper – you’ll feel SO much better when you do this, it’s amazing. Then you can take a look at them and make some decisions about what matters, and what doesn’t.
4. Choose 1, 2, or 3 top priority goals for immediate focus. What’s going to have the biggest impact, the biggest payload for you? Now?
